Default Brass Windshield Screw Holders

Does anyone know the proper name and HD part number for the three small round screw receptacles that fit into the faring and accept the screws that hold the windshield in? I have one that is turning in its housing. I probably caused it by turning the screw too tight. Also, any ideas on how to secure it in its hole? Thanks.

HD has replacements for those....they'll know what they are....just ask your parts guy....and don't let him tell ya to use the slotted end to screw them in....slotted end goes in first

Well nuts. Available at your local hardware store.

(that's what they're called, not a comment).

Pull it out, add gorilla glue and put back in.

I installed one last week and I didn't put the slotted end in first. Oops.

Very timely. I am about to put these inserts in but I am now confused. I found a previous string which said to use the slotted end to screw them in. HD Mechanic also said to use slot for screwdriver. This string says reverse. Can you explain reason. Thanks

Just installed two of the screw in inserts with the slot inwards - facing the rider. Apparently the slot is designed to "collapse" in to accommodate the start portion of the thread that is left by the tap lead. This does make some sense. Third insert would not pull out - guess the JB weld really worked on that one.

Plain old Elmers glue has been holding mine together for last six months. However there is new parts in the saddle bag for when it fails.
