1990 GL1500, love the bike, but selling it, just ordered a Road King. I have had no problems with the Goldwing just a different animal, it was made as a touring bike and does a great job. I love chrome, metal and the sound of a motorcycle. Wife also wants a harley that in her words purrs.

Sold my '96 Aspencade and 2000 Fatboy to get my 2004 Ultra.
I have got to say, the Goldwing was the best bike I have ever ridden.
Smooth...Power......capable of going anywhere.
I decided to sell the GL1500 before anything went wrong with it, since
most dealers will not screw with a Goldwing over 10 years old, as you may
have heard. (I had a GL1200 and had a dealer replace the stator about
two monthes before they quit working on them). Honda....fine bike....
but if the dealer decides they don't want to work on it......
OH! Then there is trying to decide which weekend you aren't going to ride so
you have time to change your air filter (1500/1800's).
Harleys not so bad.....but getting there.

Have owned a couple of GoldWings. My last one was a 2001. Rode it 62,000 trouble free miles. Moved to a 2008 Ultra to get more leg room and fulfill a life-long dream. I am a happy Harley owner!

I had 3 of them and liked them all. They were powerful, smooth, comfortable and dependable.

Ichose theUC whenit was time for a new ride because of thelooks and leg room. I've ridden 10,000 miles since I picked it up last Augustenjoy every minute I spend on it. It handles much better in the city than the Wings, I'm hooked on the sound and can go 150 miles between stops without any pain in my legs.

I'll never go back to a Wing, the UC is an unbelieveable bike.

i have an 06 Ultra ( my 2nd Ultra) and an 05 GW. The GW is smoother, faster and more comfortable on a long, long ride. But, LOVE THEM HDs!!! Just something about that HD

I had a 84 Aspencade that I owned and rode for ten years, 146000 miles. It was a solid bike, but it had the stator problem (replaced three of them), and was a bit top heavy at slow speeds. Brakes could have been better too. I took long rides on it, once to Odessa Texas from Riverside, Ca, and several time to my dad's in Redding. My only complaint was that it was an uninteresting bike. All I could add to it the whole time I owned it was the GW emblems to the saddlebags. The other aftermarket stuff just was clutter to me.

I wrecked the Honda one night, and decided not to ride any more. Seven years later, I bought the 02 Ultra. I felt like I was back home again. I guess I am just a Harley guy at heart.[8D]

Like I said above, I enjoyed every mile on my GW but it just can not give the feeling I get from my Street Glide. I have meet many people since I started riding in 1993. George being one of them. Gold Wing people are different from Harley people. But the bottom line is as long as you love to ride I can get along with you. There are many people in both groups that own bikes and put under 5,000 miles on them in 5 years time. These folks I usually don`t get along with because they would rather sit and look at their bike and all the money they have spent to be a "biker". Just not my kind of folks! I have been in a lot of groups over the years, usually over the winter months when I can`t ride. So far this forum has given me the most information about my bike and riding than I have gotten from any group I have ever been in. Thanks to all here on HD forums!

Just an added note, The picture above is my 93 just days before I sold it. It was 13 years old and had over 89,000 miles on it. Take care of any bike and it will take care of you!

Ride Safe,

Mike
