you are correct out the box the S&S 124 is not a good bagger motor at 10;8 comp and 640 cams -- it can get a bit finicky -- lower the comp to 10:1 - no more than 10:5 and a torque friendly cam and you have got a great torque monster than runs very cool. Star built the motor and dyno'ed it -- the curve is straight up from idle
Lyn, that news make my envy even worst!
I have a friend who has done the opposite with his 124" and tuned the nuts off it - something like 160+ HP with a monster S&S carb. Like Joker says, it would be great to see your dyno curve.

Lynn, welcome to the 124" club! This chit is a disease! I am already burning thru my rear tire with mine....I am running the same setup just 10.2 comp 126hp/132tq. Enjoy that batboy
Could swear I posted this before...

Here is some info on the new Wood's TW-888 cams which we are now offering with our Fuel Moto 107 kit. We just did a build for a customer that brought their bike up from North Carolina. It was a 2008 FLH and we turned around the build, break in, and tune in just over a day. From our Facebook page...
Fuel Moto 107 build setup @ 10.5 comp, Wood Knight Prowler TW-888 cams, FM Level B "CNC" heads, Jackpot 2/1 exhaust, tuned with Dynojet Power Vision. This combination made 117Hp/128Tq, an increase of 47Hp & 45TQ over their previous setup.

Sure, that looks nice... if you like that sort of thing!!
Seriously, that's one nice build Jamie, with tons of power out of your 107" build and those 888's!!

Look back at my 124" original post. I put over 10k miles on it this last summer. They are great for touring bikes. If I ride nice it will do up to 48 mpg. Lowest I saw was 28mpg once. Usually get mid 30s.

That's a nice set-up!! You're getting some really good numbers for an exhaust and A/C change.
A few years ago, those numbers would've been the envy of a lot of riders; even some today still.
And the cost of your mods vs. that of some of these others? No contest!
(Now, if you add cams, you're gonna be extremely impressed with your results!)
