Lyn, I wish you hadn't published those numbers!!!! I so wanted a 124", but was persuaded they are not a good bagger motor, and bought a 107".
Mine has the 585 cam in it which gives a wonderful flat smooth torque curve. Did Star build your motor for you? What is the torque curve like and how is your motor when riding?
you are correct out the box the S&S 124 is not a good bagger motor at 10;8 comp and 640 cams -- it can get a bit finicky -- lower the comp to 10:1 - no more than 10:5 and a torque friendly cam and you have got a great torque monster than runs very cool. Star built the motor and dyno'ed it -- the curve is straight up from idle

Here's my li'l 106" S&S build @ 10.8:1 CR. Wonder what I could've gotten at a lower CR.
