Should be getting my new pipe any day now. My bike is a 02 EG standard (not really) 95" w S/S 510g cams.. my ? is, are there tricks to installing this pipe. Do I use the orig. mount at the trans ?? Do they come w/ new gaskets ?? I just want to have everything ready so when they come I'll be ready!! Now I'm going to have to figure out how to add my photo's so I don't get abused later... You gotta see my black push rod tubes w/ that black pipe..I can't wait. Oh I think I hear UPS , later.. thanks Shooter64/ Sara you rock Steve
I would get a few things first a trans trap door gasket, second an oil fill spout gasket, and a set of exshaut gaskets, some say use the stock ones with the D&D and some will tell you to use the SE ones? personally I like the SE ones as they are easier to work with, then all you do is put the front wheel up on a 2X4 to lean the bike over a bit more, that way no oil will leak out, replace the stock bracket with the supplied bracket and finish the install
First, the installation instuctions are WORTHLESS. Below is what I did to install my Fat Cats
Second, I saw that the clutch cover needed to come off - decided I didn't want to do that, so got my dremel with the cut off wheel and cut the front tab (which in my case also had a ground stap connected) off from the rest of the old mounting bracket. Did have to remove the oil filler cover (just cleaned up and put her right back on) to get that rear bolt off and back on.
Now, also figured out that the two spacers they give you are for extending out the right floor board a bit - so it does not hit the pipe if the floor board pivots up. Also the two BIG bolts replace the old floor board bolts.
Now, I was left with two 1/4"20 hex head bolts and a couple more spacers. Assume these mightbe used on the rear of the mouting bracket should you need to tilt down the end of the muffler.
