You want a comfortable ride with a little rumble that won't make your ears ring and drown out your stereo: a little rumble over stock - Screamn' Eagle Street Perfomance Touring Mufflers/slash down; Deep rumble -Vance & Hines Monster Ovals, (haven't seen or heard any other than on their web-site) they're new & supposedly made for what your asking; give them a call and see what the decibel readings are. As the EPA laws are changing so are the aftermarket with the sound & volume of their pipes;most riders don't want drag pipes they just want a little rumble that's pleasing to to the ear and lets you know your riding a Harley.
I dumped ny thuderheaders this winter for the Supertrapp tunable discs and couldn't be happier. Quieter rumble in town and on the highway - no problem hearing the music. When you roll it on they wake upand bark.
My son put a set Rinehart true duels on his 04 RK He loves them. I put some Pythons slipons on my 07 RK they aer not as loud asmy son Rineharts. Now just a hesds up my son has had to replace his rear headpipe because the weld on ths mounting tab cracked after a year or so. Rinehart shipped a new headpipe to him free, and that some of the early rear headpipes had been redesined.
Rhinos are cool I have V&H long shots love em. Shop around and price then try to find some so u can hear em. Be patient looks and sound don't always go together! When u find what u want SPRING like a jungle cat. If u got an indy u trust they can help as they install all kinds and will usually get u a gud deal. LOL
Just finished installing the Rush slip-ons with 2" baffles....
very easy install.....half hour, and that was with a cup of coffee
and a pee break
Will be on a test ride shortly to listen to 'em
Different ears hear different tones, so its a personal choice....
hope you find what you like on your first choice
I've had Rineharts for about 2 years. They're only loud when Iwhack open the throttleand I don't have any problem hearing my stereo. Always get compliments on the sound - never gotten negatives. If you're trying to get that last 1/2 hp out of your motor do the research and buy the one that makes the most. Just remember they're only as good as your tuner no matter what brand they are.
You suffer more loss of sound from wind noise than exhaust noise on the hiway. If you really want good sound from your stereo try some custom earbuds. They cut outside noise nearly 100% leaving only the music.
