ok. so I bought the HD garage door opener and the wiring looks real straight forward.
I removed the outer fairing and get everything ready.
I pull the wires and look at the directions and now i have a question
I have a 05 Cop bike so I know the wiring harness is different (had issues with radio install and gauges etc) but the headlight????
I have 3 wire going to the head light. The directions say to slice into 2 of the existing 3 and then use the ORANGE AND WHITE "unused" wire in the harness.
I DO NOT HAVE A ORANGE AND WHITE UNUSED in the headlight bundle.
Anyone do this and know what I need to do to make this work with my bike?
The org/wht wire is connected to the ignition circuitto power the transmitter whenever the key switch is on. I suggestfinding another wire from the ign circuit or lookelsewhere in the fairing area for a org/wht wire to use if the wire is not where the instructions say it will be.
if its just the ignition circuit can I use the power to cig lighter ? thats only on when Ing is switched on. Thats what i use for GPS power. So your saying the orange white is power only right (switched). So hook up the rest as directions say and tag any other power / switched source?
