Idle...low oil pressure?
I've got to admit that I've never noticed it before, so maybe its always been like that, and none of my previous bikes had oil pressure guages, maybe its been the same on other bikes too. I was out for a nice ride on Saturday and ended up in some traffic just moving from light to light. Just happen to look down at my oil pressure guage and saw that it was very close to zero....scared the bejezzers out of me....was idling at about 1,000 rpm, so not excessively low, but even adding a couple hunderd rpm by throttle didn't do much. Once traffic got moving and I was running above 2,000 rpm oil pressure came up to 32-35 range that I've found to be normal when the engine is warm. The 08 Ultra seemed to be running fine otherwise and if it wasn't for the guage reading I would never have had a concern.....is it normal to see the oil pressure drop so low at idle? I checked oil when I got home and its reading full, so not a low oil condition.

You actually only need positive pressure at idle. The gauge will not read acturately at those low pressures. I had an idiot light on my bar hopper instead of a gauge for a while and it looked like a strobe light at night when the bike idled.
