Socomingfrom the last2 years on a 06 Fatboy these are my opinions.after 4 weeks and 2200 miles i really do like this bike. the only mods i did were the sert ,seac and rinehart true duals and i'm experimenting with some cheap windshields to get the right height.first off going from the 88 to the 96ci engine , i see alot more power. and the gearing on the 6 speed tranny is so much better, my fatboy was screaming on the highway at 75 mph, this streetglide is just getting started.this bike is fun for around town , but it really shines on the highway. it just eats up the miles. lol i can jump on for 1 exit and end up going 100 miles out of my way because i dont want to get off. as far as comfort goes its a nice smooth ride, you really dont notice small bumps. i'm 215lbs and i have yet to bottom out thesuspension. also you don't really feelthe tar strips or the grooved pavement on highways like i did with my fatboy.my next change is gonna be the seat (i'm getting a nasty pain between my shoulder blades) i think its from reaching for the bars, i tried a backrest today and it wasnt any help. i think either a sundowner or a corbin young gun will move me foward an inch or 2 and i think that will solve it.if i had it to do all over again i would do it in a heartbeat, only thing i might change is the color. reds nice but i think i like black better [sm=bangbang.gif]
DCC46, did you have all of your work done before you left the dealership? I was just wondering if you could notice a difference in proformance? I'm having all of the same things done on wednesday! And I cannot wait to have it done!!!
Let me know if you get a second.
Great looking bike, mine is the exact same, I love the red!
It shines in the sun!!!
i'm defanitely gonna do pegs, just havent gotten around to it yet . and rerb95 i did have it all done before i picked it up. i'm happy with the performance and i think you will be also. at the 1k service i changed out my rims to the mags ( dealer only had models with spokes on when i bought it), and added the cruise control they forgot to put on. ( lol, i didnt notice it was missing for a week)
