I'm thinkingabout putting the hd 211 bolt in cams on my 07 std.I have an s/eair cleaner,hd sert, and it's been dynoed. Is anyone running these cams,or does anyone have a good suggestion on what camsI can use without internal mods? thanks for any input.
I am running them. They come in around 2800 and pull hard to redline. With Bassani Power Curve true duals, Reinhart mufflers and a SERT I dynoed 87HP 98 TQ. Nothing else done to the 96. just added adjustable push rods. Otherwise its bone stock 96.Nothing not to like about the sound of this cam either! Its fantastic in that department. I am real happy with it, bike runs hard, just ask anyone that has ridden with me.

Donnylee, I have been thinking about cams myself but I don't want to get into alot of other stuff. I have Reinharts T/D's with a sert and SE air box /dyno time. I have tried to get some good answers to the cam question and yours is the first real time answer,. I pulled this chart off of night rider .com . They have alot of performance info and cams are there as well. The 203's is what I was thinking of. I have an 08 SG. They seem to come on sooner. I am not a performance nut I just would like alittle more performance and definitely the sound difference. Did you make your cam selection based on some figures or how did that go. Also was your gas milage affected????? Thanks for the help.
If you are considering a bolt in cam, include Head-Quarters 500 for '07 and newer bikes, or the HQ-0034 which is the same cam profile for the 88's. Lot's of very happy users of this cam on HDF, myself included.

The man speaks the truth. Just got done riding for 3 days with him. That bike pulls really good, sounds great, and has exceptional throttle response. He and I took off together at one point from first gear. He had me by at least 3 bike lengths by the time we hit 85mph and it was still pulling. I'm stock except for the Road Rage, SE Heavy Breather, and a SERT tune (78hp/95tq). The cams definitely make a difference.
If I behave I get 40MPG on the super slab..... alot ofsteep grades the mileage is less. If you tune for performance yes expect your mileage to drop. Its the you do not get something for nothing rule..... More power less mileage. That said its not terrible in my view.
Personally the 203s I think are not a choice I would make, justout of breath to soon for me. I picked the 211s because they are in the usable on the fly power range in my opinion. If your cruising below 2500 your pretty much luggin your bike.
These cams make powerabout likenearlystock fromIdle to 2600 to my seat of the pants.... from 2700 up to red line they pull hard. Lots of guys want big torque off idle. Thats ok, however its useable power on the bottom is a narrow window when travelling on the fly in my opinion and hitting some gears, or dropping some gears and hitting it.
Yes I looked at specs of both cams before choosing and also talked with the Service department before choosing the 211s for reality check. You want a bitchin sounding idle? The 203s will be smooth, The 211s have more overlap and the sound at idle is wicked over stock!
I stayed with SE Cams for warranty consideration. My dealer will back this bike with SE cams and their install on warranty. So yes there are many cams out there. But in my opinion again...And not because I happen tohave them....The 211s are a great cam that are overlooked, and deserve some credit just as much as other equivalents out there like them.
That said Bigzzed and I almost got caught by a CHP our first run.(Wheewww!) But we got a nice looking isolated straight out by Shasta and a second opportunity to check it out for ourselves. We were running 95MPH when I backed off. His bike runs nice, but as he indicates you cannot deny a noticeabledifference with the 211cams and thats about the only difference between our bike except he runs 2:1 Bassani I run true dual Bassani.
