Throttle question
I started up my 08 Ultra last night and noticed the rpm's were idling at 2000. I assumed I had the same issue that other people had and had shut the bike off when it was idling high. I turned the throttle forward thinking it might be stuck, and the rpms shot down to 1000 and stayed there. I tried to find out what this did besides turning off the cruise but couldnt. Any idea why it would do this. I'm sure its a simple answer but I couldnt find anything.
Ya, I know I had to do that since I probably shut it off at a high idle. But instead of doing that I turned the throttle forward while it was running and it slowed way down. Started it up again and it was fine. I'm trying to find out what the purpose of turning the throttle forward is.
I had the same issue on my RG, just for a day. Rolling the throttle forward brought the RPM's back down (but only while it was rolled forward). After a restart it idled normal again. That was two months ago and it hasn't happened again.
