Speedometer Problem
Ok I talked to the service rep over the phone this morning and he said it sounds like a bad speedo. Cost $275 and then one hour labor on top of that. Before I order the speedo I'm gonnapull the sensor and cleanthe shavings. If that works I'll waituntil it does it again and then replace the sensor. Thanks again for the help.
Update: \\; I pulled the sensor and cleaned it, it was covered in shavings. \\; On the test ride (to the dealer) I noticed a slight difference in the speedo action but it still wasn't working right. \\; At the dealer I talked to the service manager and the only \\;help he offered was "Bring it in for a diagnostics". \\; I ordered the speed sensor and waited ten days for it to come in. \\; During that time the blinkers stopped self canceling. \\; I installed the new sensor and everything's working fine now. \\; Total cost $59.08. \\; \\; \\; Sidebar bitch: \\; I use Jones Harley in NLR AR as my home base for maintenance and parts supply. \\; The old service manager Landon was promoted and moved to the Hot Springs dealership. \\; He was always helpful with advice and \\;helped me save some bucks. \\; The new service manager didn't help at all. \\; I'm sure with his experience he knew what was wrong but didn't want to tell me. \\; If I had listened to him it would have cost me one hour \\;labor for diagnostics, one hour labor for installation, and the cost of the part. \\; Total $190 vs $59.08. \\; Very disappointing. \\;  \\;
