Default Pre-2000 FLHTCUI brakes...

Hey, y'all.
I just joined the board... mostly cause I just bought a 97 Ultra Classic.
And now I'm curious who's done what to cure those insanely weak single-pot calipers.
I was looking at the 4 piston PM's, but they're a little pricey.
Does anybody know of a bracket to put HD's 4 pistons on a 97? Do the newer baggers have a thicker axle?
Any input would be rad...
Thanks, y'all.

I am curious too wheather this would work or not, is there a retro fit bracket that would allow the newer style 4 piston breaks to fit the older 99 down FL's???

someones gotta know????

Problem is the axle is much larger, a full one inch now, and the swingarm is different, and the wheel is different... you'd be better off finding a GMA caliper to put on there,
if you want more pistons...

but curious, I have no problem locking up my rear wheel on my '99, and it's really a glorified hill holder... what doesn't it do for you? Besides look good.

I was gonna suggest PM but seen you checked it out already. Great set up. You get what you pay for.

Yes, there is an upgrade from the single pot calipers to the dual units used until the Brembos came out. I did not want to go the whole route of changing sliders, wheel and axle, so I'm using these:

The dual piston calipers are cheaply had. My brackets are at the powdercoater now (of course) and I hope to have this done next week.
