Default NYC tour

I am planning on a trip to NYC this summer, for a lot of reasons I hear its best to stay overnight in NJ and take transit into NYC? Anyone know of any motorcycle friendly hotels? I am basically looking for security since it will be left alone for most of the day. Maybe some hotels have security parking or underground parking? Any bad sections of town to stay away from?&nbsp\\;Any help would be appreciated!&nbsp\\;

By NYC if you mean Manhattan as stated any major hotel chain is fine.&nbsp\\; Some have their own attached parking which is best.&nbsp\\; Not much to do north of Central Park, particularly after dark, some prefer not to go into the park after dark. There are also four other boroughs which are a part of NYC, all have sites to see ie. Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Staten Island.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;Many historical places, four&nbsp\\;professional ball parks (two minor, two major).&nbsp\\; Hope this is helpful.&nbsp\\; Happy trails...&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;

Dude get a hotel on Long Island where you and your bike will be safe and it is a short train ride right into the center of the city, Penn station. Check out Rockville Center hotels that are in walking distance to the long island railroad. good luck and have a good time.

Hey knocker, you sound less than objective, as you can see, I try not to let it show...

Here is a good safe place that is quite biker friendly. I have stayed here a number of times, and there is a city&nbsp\\;bus that will take you into NYC Grand Central area, right accross the street from the Hotel.

A ride I remember like yesterday was running the George Washington Bridge in early dawn. It was&nbsp\\;far out. With that exception, turn around, go back into Jersey and check out that Red Roof Inn. Couple years back there was a veterans ride, probably to&nbsp\\;Trade Center. Sheraton Hotel, big bucks. Video of some punks in enclosed parking lot kicking over and on all the bikes. &nbsp\\;

Marty,
&nbsp\\;
I live on Long Island and it is much better to stay there or NJ and take a train into the city (the city is Manhattan to us) as others have said.&nbsp\\; It is a bitch expecially if you aren't used to the city to ride there.&nbsp\\; You will see what I mean when you get there.&nbsp\\; It's really not a lot of fun.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;NYC is the best with so much to see and&nbsp\\;do&nbsp\\;but not to ride in.

Stay on LI like someone suggested. RVC is great....Good hotels, Hampton Inn...walk into town, great bars, restaurants, nightlife....short ride east on Sunrise Hwy to Jugs &amp\\; Strokers biker bar, Freeport Nautical Mile(stretch of bars and eateries along the Freeport Channel, biker friendly)Short ride to Long Beach West End...and 30 minutes to the City by Long Island Railroad a block from the hotel.
