Well, as I'm sure most if not all of you have been through this before. \\;I again went to my local HD shop and decided as always while I'm there I might as well spend some money. \\;I decided to buy the "Billet style" highway peg mounts and some pegs. \\;Of course I ask (as always) the parts guy if a guy with VERY little knowledge if any could handle this instal. As always they tell me, oh for sure this is easy. \\;I get home only to find that the parts guy didn't sell me the highway peg bolt assembly (that of course should be included but is sold separetly. I cruise home and thought this shouldnt be too hard, if it takes the average guy one hour to do it might take me 2-2.5 to do. \\; I get home after borrowing tools (specifically the Torque wrench from my dad), and decide to jump into it. \\; Come to find out that the allen wrench that you need to tighten the bracket to the crash bars seems to be a special size.. with this I guve up for the day. \\; Man this stuff is a little frusterating to say the least. \\;
 \\;
I guess my question for you guys, other than just plain old venting is does anyone have the specific size allen wrench that I need to complete this, because my set doesnt have one that fits this bolt....
 \\;
I may start to just pay the Dealership to instal everything... this is getting old. \\;
 \\;
thanks for listening.

Get a set of allens that is SAE and it should have all the sizes you need. \\; It is only frustrating when you don't have the tools you need. \\; Also remember to always take your time. \\; When I first started riding I din't know how to do anything adn over the eyars I have gotten decent at doing most everything I need to know how to do . \\; Patience, and remember these is not substitute for the right tool.
thanks for advice.. like IS aid I never claimed to be a true mechanic, but I thought I should be able to handle this one.. but I will try a new set of allen's and see what happens. \\; Thanks for the advice, and not slamming me for being a little slow when it comes to this stuff!!! \\;

There's nothing more frustrating than not having the right tool in the right size.

Road Head, I didnt even think to look in there, I was hoping to use the Torque Wrench as the directions state. \\; I have a complete set of Torque bits, and I guess that I should look in there and just say screw the torque wrench for those bolts, and just tighten them. \\; And simply use the Torque wrench on the other bolts that I have the bits for, just wanted to be sure to follow the directions as close as possible...
 \\;
Nothing beats having the tools to complete the task at hand. \\; I guess more money twords tools and less twords extras...
 \\;
Thanks for the advice! \\;
 \\;
I will look now!

Hang in there, rerb95. \\; Get a set of SAE allen wrenches and complete set of torx bits (and add T27 if it doesn't include it).
 \\;
Just in the last couple days there have been posts from guys with sticky throttles (new grip install - at dealer), oil blowing out AC (overfilled - at dealer) and it goes on and on. \\; Even with the tool purchases, you'll probably save money. \\; And, money aside, \\;you're almost guaranteed to better quality work. \\; Who cares more about job done right on your bike than you????
I forgot to say that I prefer the allen heads and torx bits that can fit on a socket. \\; I find them much easier to use than the standard allen wrenches and such. \\; I got mine at sears. \\; Make sure toi get a t-27 as well. \\; It doesn't come in all sets and you will need it eventually for the derby cover.
