Ok, I put my bike back to stock rehook the 02 sensors etc. Go to HD and have them set the AFV to 100%, then ride home and throw on my goodies? Hope I uderstood this right. Thanks for the input Glens.

The weather broke and I got to do a test ride. Did about 25 miles and had flashes of awesome performance. Also had some serious flat spots. Rolling on the throttle from about 70mph to speeds I won't talk about in top gear nets a very rough and slow acceleration. But, accellerating hard in first through third pulls noticably harder than before the PCIII. What this says to me is, take it to a dyno and have a trained tuner finish the job. Am I wrong here?
You should have no reason to require a dyno tune after installing a PCIII and a Fuel Moto map, assuming the pipes and other hardware match the map. From my experience Jamie's maps are very accurate, shouldn't require any adjustment, and should run great out of the box. I would call Jamie and talk it over with him.

Did you install the O2-sensor eliminators as specified? If not, this may be your problem, as closed-loop operation (when sensors are in line) will override the instructions given by the PCIII through the most-used part of the RPM range (approx. 0-3k RPM @ 0-50% TP). In that range you'll be running at stoich (14.7:1) which is quite lean and unsuitable for anything other than cruise at low TP.

Thanks Glens, I'm new here, but think you know something I sure don't! Can you explain the procedure step by step for me?
Ok, I put on my PC last year. Ran ther moto canned map, it sucked. Don't get me wrong, I like Jamie. Rode down to his shop in Neenah and talked with him face to face.
I had major ping and rattle. So I contacted PC and they zipped me a retune map to ride piggyback on my pc111. Ran extremely well. Then I downloaded a advanced map for my V &amp\\;\\\\\\; H, airfilter, etc. Had timing and fuel for both cylinders. And it runs awesome noe except my fuel mileage is about 40 verses my buds new 08 which he got 52 last weekend on the same ride.
So if I put the stock pipes back on, stock cleaner, o2 sensors and run the bike for a few miles and then pull the 02's and put the bike back to the way it is now, it will run way better?
I don't know all there is to know about this so your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks man
Your mileage decreased because Fuel Moto's maps are tuned for performance and cooling at the expense of mileage. You can retain the performance at the expense of some cooling by leaning the cruise range. I'll be writing an updated how-to on PCIII and mileage as soon as they fix this forum, but until they do check out the thread below. Scroll down 21 messages and read my write-up, being sure to heed the caveats, like running without a cooler, listening for detonation, etc.

Kindly ask Jamie to rethink his position on the ramifications of the AFVs.

Whenever you put the O2 eliminators into service, the AFVs stay locked at their present values. They are an across-the-board fuel-multiplier. If Jamie made his map when his AFVs were anything other than 100% we would have to somehow get ours to that same value before his map would have the best value for us.

In another thread in another of the forums here, it was reported to me as a result of a direct question that when the O2 sensors are disconnected while the engine is running the AFVs will revert to a 90% value. This is something any one of us can do in the field without having to resort to emplacing all our stock components and riding (which might not yield 100%), or visiting someone with a Digital Technician (with which the AFVs can only be reset to 100%).

Ask him directly to yank the on-line O2 sensor connecters on a running engine just before he installs the O2 eliminators and generates a map. In that way we will be able to use his maps exactly the same way they were generated.

He should have my contact info still. Just remind him of the cigar box from last autumn, that should clue him into who I am.

Thanks.
