I have a 07 Road King Classic. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; I guess that I will be buying a new windshield.
 \\;
Same thing happened to my 2007 RKC. It was covered under warranty. The crack came up from the holes under the adhesive strip. It was probably a machining issue (small crack that grew over time). So I am now on my second HD shield!
 \\;
Good luck - it should be covered!
I just want to thank you guys for all of your input. \\; I went to the dealer after work tonight and asked about it. \\; The service tech went in back to get his "warranty guy" and I thought that was it, I was going to have to buy a new windshield. \\; The "warranty guy" came out to my bike and just looked at it. \\; He said something to the service tech that I couldn't here and went back inside. \\; I asked what he said and was told he had to go look at the warranty book (?). \\; About 15 minutes later the "warranty guy" came out with a new windshield. \\; He put it on the bike, took the old one away and never said a word. \\; I asked the service tech if they needed any info from me and he said no and to have a good night. \\; No name, VIN # or anything. \\; I must say that I am quite suprised. \\; Just when you think you have these guys figured out the change everything up on you. \\; Thanks again. \\;
I have a twenty twenty two road king special. Cracks are coming off of one of the bolts that hold the shield to the brackets. The windshield actually has very few miles. Harley davidson dealership called corporate and they will not replace the windshield.
QUOTE=phillaf65;3557164]I noticed a crack in my windshield last night. \\; It is coming from underneath the strip of metal that goes in the front of the windshield. \\; I took the bolts out of it and it would come off. \\; I'm figuring know that there is double sided foam on that strip that I'm guessing has adhesive on it. \\; My question is if this in covered under the warranty. \\; I've had the bike for a little over a year so it is still under warranty. \\; Or would it just be covered if it was caused by the holed that was drilled in for the bolt. \\; Thanks guys.[/QUOTE]
I had the original and another oem windshield crack on my 21 street glide in the first 6 mos. Wound up buying a freedom shield anyway but it still kinda sucked. Just find yourself a new shield and dont look back. Youll be happier anyway. Not right but it is what it is I guess.
