I built mine and probably spent $40.00 on materials. It works well but these sound like a better deal.

While they're all good lifts, most of them are made in China. Sams Club, Pep Boys, Wal Mart, Costco, etc. A PittBull Lift is great, strong and stable, but, almost $500.00

The Bolts used on these China Made Lifts are not up to par, but they work if not stressed. In discussions on another board, one had the Bolts shear while in the process of lifting the bike. You can imagine the consequences. To make a long story short, the bolts were replaced ( I did mine already, and I have the Sears Lift) with class 10.9 in metric which is equivelant to grade 8 in SAE. The strongest bolt made. Total cost about 25 bucks. Of course, many folks have used the standard chinese bolts with no problems.

I just like the insurance of eliminating a source of potential problems. IMHO

Bryan I have a Direct Lift also and it is the best money I ever spent. They have a good product and it makes working on the bike easy!

I just got a Dunwel lift this past week. It seems to work really well. Very sturdy and easy to move the bike around. I bought my wife a 91 heritage classic and the guy gave me the lift and all other accesories he had in his garage. I think these lifts retail for about $300-$450. The one I got is the higher end model,<up to 1400lbs.> Just my 2 pennies!
