I am looking at both XM and Sirius since I will soon be adding a stereo to my EGS. \\; I am looking for a unit that the wife can use in her car 90% of the time and I can take with me on trips. \\; What is the best service and which \\; unit would work best for what I am trying to do? \\; Thanks for your help, as I have NO idea \\; when it comes to sat. radio. \\; Thanks Bryan

Bryan, you will get the " I like ____ best " because thats what I have answer. I have both and I still like XM best. I think XM has the best equipment for sure. Check out the Inno or the Myfi they both work great and you can record on both of them. Both companies are about to merge so it will change somewhat as far as which channels stay or go. Sirius does have Nascar XM has baseball but again they will be one soon.

RE: XM/Sirius
I have 3 XM Radio's. \\; 1 in wife's Denali- factory, 1 in my D max-factory and 1 XM- XT that I use as a portable... in my boat and on the HD. Its small enough to fit in those HD leather windshield bags, has about a 3/4" square antenna thats magnetic, except I place it under the leather flap....signal works great. \\; I also use a patch cable in my HD's radio that plugs into the AUX jack...cant get any simpler. \\; I never ever listen to FM. Have had Xm for about 6 years. \\; Look at Xm's web site for specials on the XT reciever....One last thing with a subscription you can log onto XM's web page and listen for free over the internet...I listen all day at the office.
Sirius channels are better in my opinion .\\
 \\;
i bought the bike mount kit and i am constantly switching from truck to bike with no problems yet
I have both XM and Sirius.
 \\;
In my experience, the \\;2 Sirius Mobiles (at least in Tulsa) cuts out alot sucks. \\; My 2 XM Mobiles \\;never do.
I have both \\; and like Sirius better, the mix of music is better in my opinion. I bought a extra antanna, power cord and the direct cable to the AUX input on the radio and put it \\;permenent under the fairing. Then \\;put the unit in my glove box pouches. I just uplug the unit from my car and plug it into the cables I installed on the bike. works great
I have the xm and like it. If you decide to get a portable xm I have a brand new in the package Express RC with antenna and everything you need to install. I bought it and didnt like having it on my bars so I bought the HD unit.
I also have both but enjoy Sirius much more. I'm actually canceling the XM. That being said, if you can hold out a little while, XM and Sirius will be merging. It was approved by the FCC one month ago. When I spoke with the service rep, they advised they hope to be merged by Xmas for the Xmas sales.
What would be the consumer benefit to the merger? Besides more channel availability????or Ive read where the two systems will never be compatable (hardware) because then they would have a monopoly, something congress wont allow
