Does anyone know what date HD starting using the updated filter shell on the assembly line? \\; if been posted already, I'm sorry. \\; \\; Thinking about picking up an 08 at a discount from dealer instead of waiting for 09.

Thanks for the great post, my bike has a noticeable hissing noise from the tannk when running, the dealer said this was normal. My nike is also pinging under acceleration and runs very lean \\; could a cracked filter housing be causing this? I have had the ECM checked and the most recent program installed yet the peinging persists.

Thank you all for the info. This site ROCKS! One last question. On my tourpack on my 08 Ultra it has a \\; date of \\; 7-07. Does that just mean the tour pack or would that be my build date? \\; I bought the bike in late May - 08 anniversary Ultra, but the \\; build number is in the 1200's so I am assuming it was an early build date. Not sure.

The build date can be found on the neck of the frame on left side, opposite side of the VIN number.

Gas swirling around inside of the tank when running is a dead give away.

Installed mine this morning…Bought the last 1 the dealer had…Thanks Dawg the pics helped a lot…That and my manual…Took me about 1 hour…I had some stress in the corners but failure did not look imminent…
