Here's a funny story. So I called the dealer, about mid july. Told them that I knew there was a fuel cannister problem with bikes with a build date of 11/07 and earlier. Told them I was going to Milwaukee in august and would they change for me. They told me that they knew it was a problem but were only changing them when a problem developed. So I replied that that didn't make sense, since when the problem shows up, then the bike dies, maybe in the middle of nowhere. So then the guy said I was a pessimist. Needless to say, thanks to you guys, I went ahead an swapped the old one out. The funny thing is, a week later the recall notice comes. How is that for timing?

Dealer called me up this morning to come in for the recall. Took them 45 minutes counting road test. Left them and took a 60 mile ride, stopped about every 10 miles and shut her down and did a restart, knock on wood so far all OK. Guess they did OK.

Took mine in today. they had it about a 1/2 hour. They pulled the thing and stated that it was ok as it had numbers on it dated after the last dates for the bad ones. Mine was a 11/07 build. The dealer said that the letter they recieved from the moco was inspect and replace if nessesary. That being if it fell in a certian date range for the body. They said the only way HD could be sure was to recall all the bikes first then check the numbers on the unit. I have 10k on it now with no problem.
