Glad your ok. \\; \\;The down side of the lawyer deal is most of the time it will drag out a settlement. \\; \\;I've been in the insurance business for 35 years. \\; I'd get a lawyer only if I could not come to terms with the insurance company myself. \\; And keep in mind, a lawyer is going to get 30%. \\;

What do I do now Have the dealer pick up the bike? YES
Call the insurance co? YES
Call a lawyer? YES
Make my wife happy and just give it up after riding accident free for 10 years? NO
Your advice is welcome. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
Get yourself healed up and thank your lucky stars you're okay. \\; Take the time you need to rest and recoup. \\;
 \\;
But also get back on the bike, and here's why:
 \\;
You are safer on a motorcycle than in a car. \\; This is because trained motorcyclists will get in a crash about 1.6 times per million miles ridden. \\; On average, a car gets into a crash about 5.2 times per million miles driven. \\; Your odds of crashing are miniscule, so if it does happen, your odds are even lower that will happen to you a second time.
 \\;
I know you can't state an intellectual rationale in what is predominantly an emotional issue, but these are stats that show there is a misconceoption about how dangerous it is to ride. \\; You're actually safer on two wheels.
 \\;
Glad you're alright. \\; Stay safe!
The question that pops into my mind is, how safe is a helmet that caused a wreck because you couldn't see a huge car coming at you. My advise is to take that Full Face helmet and throw it as far as you can in a canyon.
 \\;I was in the right most lane, on my way home from work and minding my own business.
And not to add insult to injury, but you might want to re-think riding in the right lane. \\; With all the merging and exiting there's too much stupid stuff going on there.

My immediate thought was similar but different. You should never mind your own business, unless that business is to mind the business of all your road-mates.
Congratulations for being here to tell us about it!
