Sorry to hear about your accident, Shrimp926!
Contact the insurance company.
They should arrange to have bike trailered to HD dealership for appraisal.
Claim everything you had into the bike as well as what you were wearing - helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, etc.
Contact an attorney (personal injury) as your losses may be greater than you anticipate at this point.
Get back on a bike asap - took me 700 miles to feel really comfortable again.
Best of luck - from another club member!

Well most know I went down a few months back. Tore my ACL and had to have it replaced. I have Gieco also.. they came out gave an estimate that was way low and didnt include quite a few parts. The dealer did his estimate that was more... Then during repair they found a few more. The dealer told me that Gieco is not a problem to revise there eastimates. So i paid for my deductable and the extra painting (inner fairing, side covers) and they assured me that Gieco will take care of the rest. My FATCAT was only a month old when I laid her down and had a small dent in the heat shield. They replaced the whole pipe... Needless to say they let me take my old one and Ill get a new heat shield and sel it....

I had the same thing almost happen to me but the car missed me and my wife by inches.....I could've stuck my hand in his window and grabbed his steering wheel it was so close. Glad you're OK and get her fixed and get back in the saddle.

Glad you're OK.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
One thing I find peculiar....how many people do you know stop riding in cars after being in an automobile accident?&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; (I'm sure they are out there...I've never met one...but it is such a common comment when one has had a bike accident).
Good point.&nbsp\\; If everyone just dropped whatever they were doing when something goes wrong, we'd all be running naked in the forest and foraging for our food.

On a related note, I've wondered why car drivers don't wear helmets?&nbsp\\; Are they exempt from head injuries?&nbsp\\; I thought head-on collisions produced busted heads galore?&nbsp\\; Something's not right.

I'm glad your OK. I would contact a lawyer only as a last resort. We all carry insurance for obvious reasons. If in the end you feel you were not fully compensated, consult a lawyer. That said, track carefully all documents and correspondence. About riding again? That's between you and your family.

Glad you are okay.&nbsp\\; Your story is making me think about wearing protective gear more often.&nbsp\\; There are plenty of&nbsp\\;wackos flying down the highway on cell phones trying to find the nearest rib shack.&nbsp\\; They don't care who gets in the way.&nbsp\\; Let us know how this turns out.
