My 06 RKC has 8K miles. \\; My set/resume button quiet functioning today. \\; The left side button will turn the cruise on (the red light comes on on the speedo) \\; I think Ive checked the obvious, break lever play, throttle adjustment, brake light is going out, fring on brake lever is not pulling the brake lever back, havent washed the bike in a few weeks and cruise has worked fine since last washing.
Any other obvious things to be checked before pulling my pants down at the dealer?

Thanks

IIRC, try disconnecing the two wires from the connector that is located just forward of the gas tank near the steering neck. \\; IIRC, that's the wiring for the throttle position sensor. \\; After the wires are disconnected, see if the cruise will "set." \\; If it does, the TPS is bad. \\; The TPS allows the cruise to disengage when you roll off the throttle.

There is also a detailed diagnostic description in your service manual that is also duplicated in the DIY Forum.
My problem was that I had re-shaped the CC module terminals during my probing of the module during the maintenance intervals. \\; They had been re-shaped over time so that there apparently was not adequate connectivity to the CC module. \\; I took a pick and re-shaped the terminals to what they should be. \\; Works now.
The throttle roll off switch is probably broken. It is on the right side just in front of the gas tank on the idle cable under the rubber cover. Unplug the front spade plug on the switch and you should be back in business. Mine did the same thing. Good luck.
If you are talking to me, nope. I checked that. It functions perfectly.
From the common wire to each separate lead, disconnected at the cruise module, I get perfect momentary closure of both switch positions. The forward position goes higher than the resistance range of my Fluke (open). The rearward position (the set) mostly opens to various resistances, depending how I flick the switch without disturbing any other part of the bike. Should go full-open electrically every time, not 1/100.
