I should have read all the post before I replied about the kit being available. I see at least 2 others supplied the part number. Sorry everyone, I was to quick to show how much I really don't know.
Mark.

Pulled the cooler adaptor fitting off yesterday. It was not hard to do. The original gasket was in pretty good shape. Put some of the hi temp silicone gasket sealer on, reinstalled and have waited the 24 hours to full cure. Now I find that silicones are not recommended for engines with O2 sensors. Most all the permatex gasket "makers" say they are sensor safe. Most all of their sealants do not say they are sensor safe except one or two. So may pull again and use either the cooper spray, which I assume has no silicone and therefore sensor safe. May try the high temp wheel bearing grease also. Want to try something that I can put on and ride and not have to wait 24 hours for cure. The HD replacement gasket came in. This one has the paper back adhesive side. Will use it as a pattern and the gasket material I bought to make a couple of spares. What a PITA.

I believe the problem with silicon gasket maker is when the assy. is tightened down ,the silicon will squeze out and could flow into the oil passages.

I used a gasket adhesive on mine when installed. It kept the gasket aligined when I bolted on the adapter.

1FL that is correct. When I mentioned that I was using the silicone to the HD service manager he told me about the non-compatabiity issue with the O2 sensor. I did some reading on line to confirm that. When I put the silicone on I didn't want any squeeze out so I used just a very small amount, and a very thin coat. Anyway, so yesterday morning I'm back to Autozone and finally decided to use the Permatex Indian Head Gasket Shellac. The HD service manager mention this stuff to me as well. It's a fairly thickened shellac like sustance black in color-almost like a liquid tar. Very inexpensive and looks very much like it would do the sealing job. Put a small amount on one side of the gasket waited about a minute and then placed the gasket on the adaptor. Very sticky and held the gasket in place very well. Put a small amount on the other side and waited another minute and then attached the adaptor to the bike. Waited about 2 hours before I took the bike out for a ride. Had some oil drips but that was from the residual that was there from working with the cooler install. Washed that area of the bike to eliminate this residual and NO MORE LEAK. What a trip.
