Was the Road Glide a Tour Glide when it was first introduced? Was it introduced in the late 70's early 80's? Was it the first 5 speed?
Sorry about the questions. A friend and myself were talking about Road Glides at Daytona the other day and I was trying to remember dates....... That is sometimes a struggle. :-(
The Roadglide did evolve from the Tourglide. There was even a Roadglide Ultra until a few years ago. I'm not sure if the Tourglide was the first five speed or not.
Got this from another websit.
1980 - The 80 cu in FLT Tour Glide, with five-speed transmission,
oil bath enclosed rear chain and a rubber-mounted engine (the predecessor to today's Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles) was introduced.
I've heard that if the planet is devastated by nuclear war, all that will survive are cockroaches and Road Glides
That's because with our sleek shark nose fairing we will be able to outrun the initial blast and make it to safety. When we recreate the world, all Harley's will have fixed fairings. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (evil laugh)
