No whining involved, and I agree no one "deserves a discount". When I was called up on Sept 12th 2001 I worked 16+ hours a day for about seven months with no days off and I came home once for three days, now I am not complaining, the military is NOT a job.&nbsp\\;But it is not well paying for what a soldier is required to do. The pay is much better now than when I&nbsp\\;enlisted in 1975 but much more is expected than is given in a paycheck. The value of time, effort, and sacrifice given by a servicemember most of the time exceeds what is given in his or hers paycheck and is generally far more then asked for in any non-military career.

That is&nbsp\\;why you have a chioce.Staying in or gettng out. It is your choice.I am sure you will make the choice that is best for you. Peace time soldiering is good but there comes a time when war is part of what you signed up for. That is the way it is.

Military make good pay? What a friggin joke. Yeah, the middle grade and up officers do but many of our military are on food stamps. Many of them have ruined their credit when they got called up from reserves and lost their homes. It sure is easy sitting in our lazy boys in the AC and drinking beer saying they make good money but you ain't walkin in their boots. I have seen several families destroyed and family members disabled. Not to mention their effective hourly rate. I would love to see some of you volunteer to work for their hourly rate. Please spare us your ivory tower theories.&nbsp\\;

OK,Last comment. I as well as many others have seen military and non-military go down iN this economy. It is not military specific. People get called up in the reserves because they chose to be a reservist and potentially collect an additional pension when the time comes. Take the basic pay of an E1 and add in the various allowances ,free medical ,free housing etc and you will see they do pretty well. What else would the average high school 18 year old do to earn more since you seem to be focusing on the junior grades. Anyway it is a point of view based in fact . Believe as you wish. Research it and you will find out the truth .Just remember,it is a popular tale that has been told for years. In the past it was true but not anymore. HAVE A GREAT DAY.SO MANY TOPICS ,SO LITTLE TIME.

What the hell are you talkin about. Why bring up the economy? Now you know the motives of those who go in the reserves? Perhaps they go through all the BS of the military to preserve freedom. Perhaps they love this country? Do they all do it for the pension...cmon man, get your head out of your @ss

WTF? Our local dealer gives all HOG members (and others that I am not aware of) 10% off everything all of the time. They just had a "20% off everything in the store" sale&nbsp\\;last weekend.
