Default Long Rides

I was wondering how often people stop when making really long rides. I had to do a 750 mile/one-day run last week from South Carolina to Missouri. The first 200 miles were fine, but after that I found that I needed to stop about every 100 miles or so. No matter how I sit my knees get to aching after a bit, and I just have to get off a walk for a couple of minutes. Also, I knew that I had to make the whole run, so I didn't want to wear myself out too quickly.

I usually stop just for gas if I need to be somewhere by a certain time. But I don't hesitate to stop if I feel I need a break. Better to be safe than sorry. Some days I can go longer some I can't. A lot of variables, enough sleep, weather, how much water you're drinking, etc.

100 mile is about it for me also.&nbsp\\;

I drink a lot of water when riding, and I have about a 100 mile bladder.

When trying to make milage, usually just stop when I need gas, about 200 miles. Toward the end of the day it does get a little harder though.
