Although I hate to do it I usually go to dealership for regular service. I just don't wanna hear any BS from MoCo if I have a problem with the motor down the road. They got the records, no excuses.

The 1,000 mile service is an extremely easy 1-2 hour job if it's your first time. Just follow the instructions in the owners manual, or have a friend guide you. Buy the oil and filter at the HD dealer as proof that the service was done. It is very gratifying, and you will save a few hundred bucks as well.

Just do it!

It isn't difficult.&nbsp\\; You will save big money to spend on some bling or, better yet, the service manual.&nbsp\\; And you will get to know your bike, which is priceless if you ever break down on the road.&nbsp\\; Learning your bike will also help you to speak with knowledge and confidence should you have to go to the dealer with a problem.&nbsp\\; As stated above, just save your receipts to prove you bought the required items.&nbsp\\; Good luck.

All of the services up until you get to the 20-25K are real easy and you will save a bunch of $$$ by doing it yourself and learning the ins &amp\\; outs of your bike. Stay home and do it yourself.

I am letting the Dealer do my first one today 1000 mile. I have added pipes, intake, fuel managment, 21in front wheel and about 2 pages of other stuff. It is my 1st Harley so i figure maybe if i screwed something up they will tell me. After today i will do all of my own services.
