you don't need one, the MOCO just wanted to fill a gage spot for you to fill with a compass...
They wanted to fill the spot and make you mad that the gauge is so inaccurate and useless. Then you'll go buy their $130 oil-temperature gauge that is very useful.
any body have an idea why i need to know the ambient tempature (gauge on the dash) on my streetglide..........
season your words well,one day you may have to eat them =)
Actually, it's a sun gauge. Since it reads the ambient temperature inside the fairing, which is largely a function of how much sun is shining on the fairing, you can judge the UV risk. It could save your life.
I'M GOING TO AGREE WITH THE BEER TEMP IDEA.
 \\;
IT'S USUALLY DEAD ON, PLUS MINE HAS A LITTLE LED LIGHT WHEN A WATERING HOLE WITH 34 DEGREE BEER  \\;IS CLOSE
actually, it's more for winter riding so you can be aware of possible ice patches on bridges. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; \\;\\\\ \\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; took mine out anyway and added the oil temp guage.. much more usable, have the sensor at the pressure switch, not in the oil pan as some guys do.. reads pretty accurate.. usually around 220 - 230
