I thought the same thing a couple weeks ago till I actually got down and looked at what its doing. Pretty good idea if you ask me.

It is a good idea, a great idea as a matter of fact. Anyone that has ever hit the starter button with the bike in gear by mistake will praise the stand for not folding up. Yeah, it happened to me once.

Thanks, this is my first touring bike and I cannot ever remember that happening on one of my Dynas, so it kinda freaked me out.

Jsut make sure it is forward before you lean over. You will get used to it. Turn the wheel left also helps

It bothers me to see the bike move forward when using the jiffy stand. Very unsettling! I know it will not fall over but I still always try to park with the front wheel slightly uphill.&nbsp\\;

I'm quite familiar with the nature of the Jiffy Stand, but my new '06 rides forward a helluva lot more than 1 -2 ".&nbsp\\; I'm not so sure on this one.&nbsp\\; Seems to lock OK, but man, a lot of travel in this one!!!!
