EGC running rough
Let me lay out he history on this. I have an 07 EGC.
I bought it in late Feb of 07 right before Bike week. Yeah I know bad time but the Karma was there and it happened. To date I have 36685 on the clock. It gets ridden in the heat, cold, rain, or shine.
She seemed to run very good up until the first cold weather. At temps below 50 she sometimes cuts out. It's as if I turned off the ignition or the hit the kill switch. Guages go to zero, lights stay on. All the indications of an ECM shut down. This always happens in the first 10 miles of my run to work (40 miles). After a recycle of the kill switch or ingition, she starts back up and runs ok with an occaisional stutter. Never had the shut down when it's warm outside.
I blew off the ocaisional stutter as a trait of HD's. Well it's gotten a lot worse. When I put the Fuelmoto package on it, I thought she was going to blow. It "amplified" the issue, if you will. The problem also seems to be worse the hotter it gets, in the morning not so bad in the afternoon much worse. If I keep it ablove about 2700 RPM it seems to run better but then I become Smokey Bait. And it seems to be an intermittent problem, though it seems to be more prevelant just after a speed change.
So far the dealer has looked at it twice for these issues. Both times they found a bad connection at the rear cylinder O2 sensor. Currently it is throwing no codes. As I did have the PCIII on it for a while, there were O2 eliminators installed, eliminating a problem with the sensors to my way of thinking.
I have pulled the Fuelmoto PCIII and AC off leaving just the mufflers and have it scheduled to go in this Saturday.
My questions are: Has anyone else seen these symptoms? If so what was the solution? I think that the issue lies in the ECM, any different thoughts?
I'm not mad at the dealer, they have treated me exceptionaly well. As I repair Medical Equipment for a living, I understand how frustrating these knd of problems can be.
