I used syn back in the 80's and early 90's .. I have heard of problems with syn and Harleys but I never had any problems ..
I change mine every three thousand with the filter , regular dinosaur oil , and I have three scoots over 200k and one over 340k on pure HD dinosaur oil ..
My Indy tells me that I can go 5000 miles between services with synthetic, and 2500 with dino oil. Never had a problem with either one. The synthetic oil is superior oil, and it seemed to cool things down a bit too. You will get many different opinions on which oil is best. I believe as long as you go with a name brand, and are regular with your changes, you will be fine.
I use synthetics in both the engine and transmission for my 04 Deuce and my 07 Road Glide. They are so much better than dino oils. Never have had a problem. I also run all synthetics in my cars and sports racing cars. You will be glad you went with the synthetic oils.
If your going to use Syn. oil, what is the miles between oil drops? I have been around 7500 miles between on Syn. oil. This last trip between southern Nebraska and Phenix Az. and back, 2700 miles I used 4 oz of oil.
