I dropped my bike off at the dealership today. I was told a shipment was due in via UPS today. The shipment arrived today about 11:30 am and hopefully I'll pick it up tomorrow. They said they ordered 100 kits and got 30!
I had a recall on my F150 for the cruise controll,I took it to the dealer close to where I work, not where I bought the truck. They took care of it in just a few min. That is the way all Harley dealers should be as well.

Dealers should have the kits in hand by now, mine said its about 30 min job.
My dealer said the MOCO would not just replace the plastic piece and wanted the entire assembly replaced. The MOCO would not even sell just the screen. I am # 43 on the list. They are waiting for the parts from the MOCO.
Also, Would not let me install it either. They have to do it. What a bunch of BS!
Why on earth would so many people be telling us that they were told so many different things about the same problem? I was told that they would just be inspecting these parts!
They are replacing the filter shell and o-ring thats it. If your dealer is telling you anything else then the dealer is doing it different than the recall says. I've been getting the run around from my x dealer because they said HD would NOT pay me for the shell that I replaced on my own. Now if you read the recall it says they WILL. So I call HD and they said yes we will but we will have to replace the shell you replaced because thats what the recall states. So anyone that replaced there own will have to let the dealer replace it or it will still be on the recall list.
I got a call from a female that works in the service dept of my local dealer. She proceeded to tell me about the recall, and that I would be getting a letter from the MOCO shortly, and that because I bought the bike from them, they (the dealer) had already ordered the kit for my bike a few days before. What she didnt know was that I already did the job myself....replaced the canister, and o-ring....and the SM at my dealer did all the paper work so my VIN when checked would indicate that this recall campaign service was completed already.
I think that due to the design I will change that canister at the 25K mile interval when the fuel filter is due for changing.....even if it is the new improved one.....Zanottis sells them for $19 IIRC....so what the hell, its cheep insurance.
