My Amsoil experience wasn't so good...at 5k miles on My 08 RKC I changed to the Amsoil 20/50 MCV, their premium M/C oil, I had been running Motul 7100 syn, Motul's best with no problems.
The following day after a full day of hot weather riding when the bike was first started I ha excessive top end noise, something I never heard from this motor, My boys at the local shop told me and kind of what I suspected, lifter bleed down.
After experiencing this 3 times I drained the Amsoil and went back to Motul with a K & N filter and this problem is gone and the motor is much quieter.
I don't know what the explanation is for this, obviously something with viscosity when hot...just thought I would share this experience and wondered if anyone else has had the same issue with the Amsoil, I thought it was one of the best, now I'm not so sure.
Save money and just pull the crankcase drain plug and let the oil out. Then put it back in by hand (so as not to cross thread it) then tighten with wrench.
....and that takes care of the 'last' quart??? Yeah OK, whatever.
