Default heel toe shifter

is there supposed to be spacers between shifters and motor and between heel shifter and toe shifter.

On the Touring models, there is a rubber spacer (grommet, shim?) between the engine and the inner most shifter. The shifters butt up to one another - no spacers in between.

Not sure about other models, but likely the same. Seems like the wife's on Heritage was that way too.

It's a space but it's not that much of one. I call it room to maneuver.
