I am new to this site. Just joined up. I am thinking about buying an 05 Screamin Eagle Electra Glide. I am new to Harley's. I have never owned one. I have been riding since I was 11 years old and have owned dozens of scooters over the years. Getting a divorce, selling my house and thought this might be the time to make a change! Change bikes and get a new babe at the same time.
This question is for those guys that own or have owned this particular bike. How does this bike run and ride, heat vibration HP? Best I can tell is it has around 100HP at the rear wheel. I would think that the way the engine is set up I wouldn't have to change any thing. The two tone red is about the best looking bike I have ever seen! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -
I don't have the SE Electra, but I do own a '05 EG Classic.
The SE has the 103cid, which is based on the Twin Cam 88. I believe they accomplish this via a bore & stroker crank.
I'm not 100% sure about the HP & TQ, but maybe someone who at least has the 103cid SE engine will stop by.
As for the '05 EG family, the ride is great. You'll love the adjustable rear air shocks. To me, they make all the difference in the world.
As for updates, the Screamer's come with tons of chrome, although there's always more you could add. As for power, you could always update the cams to larger ones and pick up a set of aftermarket heads, such as Head Quarters.
sh4325, there's a yellow '05 Screamin' Eagle Electra-Glide at a nearby H-D dealership with 23K miles, I think the price was $23K too. Well-worth it, IMHO. In fact, if it weren't for the chopped tour pack, I would consider an even trade for my '07. Those CVO bikes are dripping with chrome, and run like scalded dogs. You could definitely do a lot worse. BTW, I think the red ones are hot too, FWIW. I say: Go for it, dude!
PS. Welcome to the forum.
