Thumbs up Sturgis was great

Went to Sturgis this year and had the best time ever. Running down I-90 with other riders as far as you could see was a real hoot. Saw all the sites, bought lots of stuff and had zero problems with anything. We stayed at Wall, so the ride over everyday was really a great way to get the day started. The cabin we stayed in was all new, state of the art and only $130 a night. Set around in the evening trading stories with the other riders who were staying there also. Very relaxing and met several new really nice folks.

The whole week was cool with all the other riders and the local authorities. Saw one dude go by the police with straight pipes and twisted the throttle wide open to taunt them. I told my pardner he was asking for trouble, and sure enough, they had him stopped down the way writing him up. He had only a rocker for a 1 percent club so we figured he was trying earn his colors.

As I get toward the end of the ride called life, I still feel "in the zone" cruising down the interstate and negotiating the winding roads in the mountains. No matter how old I get, riding the bike is still an exhilarating experience, every time. If you haven't been to Sturgis and you like motorcycles it is one those "must do" things in life.

I'm glad you had a great time. This was my 7th year for Sturgis, the crowd was down, gas or the 105th HD party??? The cops were everywhere. In Sturgis they would follow bikes around town, located at every exit ramp at night and on patrol at day. The feet down at Stop Signs were unforced. I heard of tickets for ashes from cigars. WTF not
cig butts, ashes!

Prices were down in Sturgis, $4 from $5 beers. The place to be is no longer Sturgis, it is now the little towns, Keystone, Hill City and Dead Wood that surround Sturgis.
Much less cops and much more fun. . . .

The trailers and RV were way down, less people wasn't a bad thing.
Get trip for me.

I stopped at Klock Werks, got a one hour tour of the shop by Brian himself and signed the brick wall. Brian and crew is down to earth good people with great products.
He has alot in the works, keep checking his Web Site . . .

4800 miles 15 days . . . one hour of rain. . . Great Trip

Trip would have been better if I didn't get the $119 ticket in Nebraska! Left at 4:30 a.m. and bummed by 10a.m. Fewer T shirts bought but the trooper probably saved our lives....well, maybe!

Hey JBob,

Thanks for the cabin info. Looks like the place to stay.

I hope to make the ride, next year. Haven't been, it's time before I get too old. :-)
