Darren that looks GREAT. IMO nothing beats the chrome up front and it sets the tone for the whole package. Good Job!
BTW I never cared for those flush axles either. Goththe BAH cap to clean up the front and went with smooth chrome caps on the ends. Looks good IMO

No problem skratch. Holler whenever you're ready and I'll be there.

How 'bout a nice write-up for those of us that have contemplated this job but just weren't sure of the complexity?

Congrats on a job well done!
Thanks Ben. I'm a TERRIBLE author of anything. I will be more than happy to exchange phone numbers and converse about this task. It would be a walk in the park for a wrench such as yourself though. Guaranteed.

It wasn't hard at all. I took a dremel and removed the rivets from the inside of the fender and this allowed me to remove the OEM brace. I then mocked up the fender on the bike using the NativeCustomBagger lowering braces and some autobody clamps to hold the brace in place when I captured the look I wanted. Removed mocked up fender, tacked NCB brace on with weld and sent fender to painter for the paint.

These are the Chrome Hogpro Lemans from Hogpro.com Give Phil and the boys a call and they will hook you up. Check out there site. Lots of wheels to choose from.

Thanks Mike! What most do not realize is that if you have to rebuild your forks and you have one of these flush mount axles on, you will virtually ruin the left fork leg trying to get the axle cap out. The flush mount axle cap buries itself into the metal and trying to get it out is a MAJOR pain and not worth it to me. I am looking at the BAH end caps though.

Many thanks to all that replied. I appreciate the feedback. Anyone contemplating of performing this task just post away, ask questions, and/or PM. It really is easy to do.

Jerry,

Just post when you get your '09 and you're ready to do this. You can even call me and I'll go over it with you if need be. PM if/when you need some help.

Thanks to all for the feedback. To those inquiring about the front wheel size, it is an 18". The illusion of making it look like a 21" is created with my lowered front fender with NativeCustomBagger brackets.

PS> EvEr34, that Glide sure is sweet looking bro.

Hey Darren, absolutely stunning. And I would expect nothing less. Great look. I love my chrome lowers, done before I even took delivery back in 2000. So much easier to maintain, and keep looking good. Once again, very, very sweet. That 18" wheel with the lowered fender is sick. Love it!! My son said to tell you, you're going to cost him 25K cause when I sent him pix of your unit, that's the direction he's decided to go. Thanks.

I just bought the BAH fork cap and a flush mount axle, should go nice with my *****-shiney wheel spacers
Next I will have to do the fender brace from that bagger place you told me about.
