Thumbs down MOCO Confused

My buddy's 08 SG has a re-call on the flywheel, and is getting a full engine replacement fro the MOCO, however any accessories like transmission chrome cover after market kuryiaken air cleaner and so one he has to pay to have re-installed after the engine replacement as that is not covered under warranty.

Is that not nuts or wayt

That is the option I told them if they are going to charge I would do it for him but it is BS as it is a defective part that needs to be replaced, bike only had 5000 miles on it and it not even a year old they should cover all cost to make it right.

If you do it for him, you can turn it into a positive and teach him how to work on his bike a bit so he doesn't have to rely on the dealer as much.

Yea I would like to know as well. An invidual bike recall is highly unlikely. My 08 only has 10,000 miles and its back in again for the THIRD warranty problem already. I hope it doesnt turn out that 08 was a very bad year. A few more recalls or warranty problems and I am dumping this bike. Each time goes in, the dealer has it for 3 weeks. I lost a huge chunk of summer riding already. Some one please tell me why I still love this bike. Its a love/hate relationship!

The (stealer) wants you to depend on them for everything even a simple oil change. i can't see an oil change costing 300$.

It dont sound like a "recall" but more of a warranty issue of the crank end play out of spec. If it were a actual recall like the 08 touring fuel filter canister problem, there would be much more info on the forum about it, as well as a notice from the MOCO in the mail for all effected VIN numbers......
