I left it in the saddle bag where I found it.

Never leave home without the tool kit, tire repair kit and a small compressor. Have never needed any of them, but the first time I left home without them, I could almost guarantee I would need them.

I received a kit for Xmas; keep it in the saddlebag. I've never needed it on the road, but used it to McGuiver a new battery cable end for a Norton Commander. It also had everything I needed when I changed handlebars.

I keep a tool kit (non H-D) in my left saddle bag; don't leave home without it.

Kept it, and enhanced it a little. Came in handy on the ride back from Sturgis last year when my throttle grip housing loosened up enough so that I was twisting the assembly, instead of just the throttle. Like you said, doesn't take a lot of room. I wrap mine in a shop rag and tape it, because if I need the tool kit, most times a rag will come in handy too.

The SG comes with tool kit...got mine home and no kit. Went back to dealer and he gave me one right away. said they take them out of the bags while the bike is on the floor..they have had folks open bags and walk off with the tool kits. Forgot to give me mine on closing deal.

Not all tourbikes come with the tool kit. My stays, along with my rainsuit, gaitors, extra glasses,CD's,Maps, tire gauge.gloves etc...I was a Boy Scout, always prepared.....by the way, with all my essentials, nothing slides around!
