Default Problems with installing fairing on RG

I took off my fairing on my 08' RG today to install some J&M's and a headlight modulator. Finally got the thing to hang back on the hangers after almost giving up. It doesn't look like the fairing lines up right an the left side. Another problem is the threads for the bottom screw on the left side are gone and the screw won't tighten. I thought maybe it wasn't lined up right but after looking at it. it is lined up correctly. Does anybody have a trick for restoring the threads in the plastic?

After looking at how the fairing is put together I don't know how it doesn't shake apart. T.

Most of us with Roadys pull the headlight out before trying to put he fairing back on the hooks. Just unclip the green clips and slip the headlight unit out. It is just a little tricky to get the headlight back in afterward but nothing like trying to install the fairing blind. You can see the hooks with the headlight out.

I know this doesn't help you now . . . sorry.

The fairing should line up if you install the screws in the correct order from top to bottom and do not tighten all of them until they are all started.

Can't help you with the stripped hole. Maybe a larger screw from Ace will work????

For the stripped holes, I use Loctite Power Grab. With fairing off, fill holes with glue. Insert screws. Let it setup for a few minutes then very slowly back out screws. Once screws are out let it set up well, then install. Works great for me...

Hehe, have to take the fairing off again. Just what you wanted to do right? I have figured it out that the problem with getting the fairing back on the fingers is trying to hit them right on. If when you are holding the fairing up against the inner fairing, slide it a little bit to the right or left in order to hit the fingers in the slots.
There are vanes on the inner and outer fairings that make a little more rigid. When you get the outer fairing hanging on the fingers, you may have to get the vanes on the correct side of each other. I use a screw driver to reach in between the fairings to make those adjustments in order to line up the screw pockets.
