Question My face gets wet in the rain.

Ok, quit laughing. Seriously, I got caught in a heavy downpour last year on I65 in Alabama and I was blinded. I had the tall windshield on my 06 Road Glide and was wearing a helmet with a face shield. I was between 2 trucks and it was one of the scariest moments I’ve had on a bike. I’ve been caught in the rain several times since then but it was on back roads at slower speeds. It appears that the air flows under the fairing and into my face. The angle is such that it comes in under my face shield and onto my glasses. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is my first bike with a fairing and the benefits outweight the disadvantages except for riding in the rain. It also happens with the stock windshield.

I wish I had a good suggestion for you. But what you experienced is exactly why I will not run a windshield that I have to look through, instead of OVER.

Do you have the fork baffle on your bike?

Let's see if someone has suggestions. I have the same problem. I ride with a shorty helmet on an Ultra. I don't have fork baffles. It's the rain coming up from the nether regions, not the wind around the windshield. Because my "jowls" are too big, I can't seem to find a 3/4 or full helmet with shield that I can afford. I have ordered a half shield for the 1/2 helmet in hopes that it will work. I wear prescription glasses and that's part of the problem.

I wear a full helmet when it rains not just a face shield. No worries about rain with that.

I put fork lowers on my bike and it seemed to help with wind coming up around the tank. I also have the fairing baffle and dragon wings. Use a shorty windshield that I look over and a snap on face shield on my 3/4 helmet. Haven't had an problems with water coming up from down under in the rain.

Seriously..is this a joke? go spend a 1.99 on a bandana. Wear it when it rains to cover the lower half of your face. Pull over it the rain is to heavy or just pull over and call a taxi.

Instead of spending big bucks on directing the wind and the rain while on a MOTORCYCLE just but a full face helmet.

I don't think Harley makes fork baffels for the RG. Or fairing air deflectors for that matter. I don't know if the lowers would help are not. They cost a pretty penny and I'd hate to spend that much money if they didn't work.

I have actually considered something like that as a short term solution. I am planning a road trip for next month and I may do just that. I am hoping for a more permanant solution.
