Default HELP!! Clutch Problem

I was taking a cruise tonight and about 45 min into the ride I noticed that my clutch lever had a lot of play. I pulled over and gave it a quick look and did not see any problems. I got back on the road again and it seemed ok, then almost home I had no clutch at all. What the he!!?? Any Ideas?

The locknut on the adjuster inside the derby cover has backed off.

Thanks Neckball, I will check it out. I just had it in for the 10K service, is that something they would have done?

We pay good money for their service so I would make sure they know about it. I have had some good service from my dealer so it isn't all bad. But, I have also been stuck on the side of the rode after one of their maintenance work overs and it just pissed me off to no end. I now try to do all of my own maintenance and what I cann't do, I really watch them. Good luck.

Thanks, you can bet they are going to hear about it. This was my first time to this stealer. Next time it will be a 45 min drive to another one.

So did the nut come off and fall to the bottom of the case or did they forget to put it back on? I put on about 50 mi after service was done.

So should I ride it or tow it back to the dealer, I am just not sure about the missing nut.

They wouldn't have taken the nut off to adjust the clutch.
take off your derby cover and you will see the threaded adjuster rod , the nut is threaded on that.

Yeah I know, but there is no nut on the threaded adjuster rod. It is gone.
