Keep riding the stocker. Eventually you'll either: a)develop calluses, b)dent the seat, c)deaden the nerves in your butt, or d)all of the above. When it's over, congratulate yourself on not being a *****.

Or buy a sundowner and bypass all the above. That might be smarter, I'm not sure.

I did 3,500 miles on week on the stock RK seat and my butt was sore for a week. I just put the sundowner on it and it is a LOT better.

Nothing wrong with being comfy. I have a sundowner. I like it, and the girlfriend is MUCH happier. One thing to check out... I am 6'2 about 220, and my seat rubbed the saddlebag lid. If you get one, take a test sit, and have someone check to see if you are hitting the saddlebag lid. You can adjust the saddlebag mounting position so you don't rub the paint off your lid.

Don't worry about what others say about a comfy seat. Having the bike is all about having what you want.

Also had Corbins when I was riding Jap.. They are good stuff, but expensive. I have heard good things from folks that have them on HD's. So if you don't like the Sundowner, I would start looking at Corbin's.

Gotta cast another vote for the Sundowner. I've had Mustangs as well. Sundowner is better for the long haul and cheaper. More importantly, the wife likes it.

I wonder how much of the comfort and longevity factors are based more on a person's individual butt than the actual seat. While I seem to be able to put on weight (fat) about anywhere, my butt is still the same no-meat backside it's been since I was 20. No padding at all and I've not found any seat that is truly comfortable for more than a tank of gas. And even then I'm squirming around a bit.

That said, my stock Harley seat is the most comfortable of any bike I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few. Adding the backrest helped a lot.

I bet that different butts will have different preferences across all brands of seats. Your butt may love a Corbin while my butt may hate it (but after the horrible experience I had with Corbin back in my BMW days, I don't order anything from them anyway).

Must be a way to test sit a seat before we shell out that much money...

Give it 1000 miles and see if you get use to it. My candy *** hurt for a few humdred miles but I either got use to it or my seat formed to my a$$... I am even thinking of getting a stripper seat now...

Thanks guys for the info.

I only have 183 miles so far so I think I will run with stock for a bet longer. NO candy butt here.
But if I decide to get one it will be a Sundowner.
