Does anyone think we will see used values going up because of the production cut for the 2009 models? Are we going to see dealers floors loaded with 2009s? My local dealer has a TON of new 08 bikes left.
Sellers have to be realistic, in their pricing. Mileage and color are huge. Accessories don't mean beans. No one is going to pay $15,000 for your '06 Road King, when they can buy a brand new '09 for a couple of grand more......with a full warranty. Things change once the pricing goes below $9,000, as they seem to hold in that 5-6k range for years. So here's the deal: Ride your bike for 7-8 years, put 60-70k on it, and sell it for $7,000.
NOPE - Market is lean right now... If anything it will be lower... Harley's just don't hold the resale value anymore.. It's a SELLERS MARKETright now and the way it looks it will be for many moons to come.
Kind of hard to tell a guy\gal that there HD that they invested $40,000.00 in over the last 5 years is only worth $9,000.00. (or so)
