I have a Zumo 550 that I brought from PC Nation as well. It came with the vehicle and motorcycle mounts, lighter adapter and a separate wire harness for the motorcycle , AC adaptor & PC cord. Yes a larger card will hold more songs as well as additional routes. I have the Cardo Bluetooth headset (Scala Rider Q2) http://www.cardowireless.com/Motorcycle_headsets
that does work well with the 550. I bought it off Ebay and saved some $$. Once you get your unit you want to go on the Garmin site and make sure you download the latest updates.

Thanks MRJ. I don't always ride with a helmet, is there any headset that you know of that will work without a helmet?

Any idea's on headsets for the bluetooth on the Zumo?

Another question is....will a larger memory card hold more music.
I found a leftover 512MB and could only get about 100 songs on it.
The Zumo states it can handle 4G SD card although I've heard of folks uning 8gig.
It can handle up to 1000 songs. (Use sub-folders on the SD card for faster Z boot time)

I have the stock HD radio and Zumo 550.
I have tried many many many BT headsets and they are pretty much useless over 30mph.

I am using the Harley/J&M helmet headset mike for bluetooth calls. There is a special (low cost) interface that allows you to plug into the 2.5mm jack on the Zumo bike mount (located above the Zumo audio out 3.5mm jack) and allows you to use your Harley/J&M helmet headset for both CB and bluetooth.

Simple, clean, inexpensive and crystal clear calls at 70mph!

Here is what I did for the headset.

Yes, the Zumo says it will work with up to a 4 gig card.
I have heard of folks using a 8 gig card.
However, the Z can only handle a max of 1000 songs.

You may wish to "compress" the MP3 files down to 128 or no larger than 192 bite rate.
Anything larger than that is a waste on a motorcycle.

I use media monkey and it works great for MP3 file management.

I have not understood why Garmin does not include a cigarette lighter plug in the box that fits the motorcycle mount. It seems about 80 - 85% of the users splice it into the cigarette lighther wiring anyway so it can't be a power issue. (There is a cigarette lighter plug for the car mount. Seems to me it would be cheaper for Garmin to make one plug that fits both mounts. But that is just me finding something to complain about. <grin>)

I use a 4gb card for my mp3s on the Zumo 550. It is very necessary to arrange your songs as described above instead of having them all in one folder (Media Monkey). At first, I had all my mp3s in one folder and it caused the boot up of the Zumo to be several minutes. After arranging all the mp3s with Media Monkey, the boot up was much faster.
