but if you're ecm has been 'told' that there is security, would swapping the module out do any good? otherwise, what would stop someone from taking a non-security tsm, pulling off the seat, and just swapping modules?
Is it possible to disable the system (not just disarm) by pulling a fuse or unpluging something?
Then be able to plug back together when needed, like at a rally. Most all of our rides are 1day trips and I never leave the bike, but I would like to be able to hook it back up if needed.
Possible????
I can totally relate to your desire to unplug the security system. I would not have selected that feature on the bike I have, but since I bought it used there was no choice. I have owned 8 Harleys and never had an issue with thieft and like you have good insurance. If you ever got a good answer on how to disconnect the system, please let me know.

Everything is explained in the User Manual, why give such details on the web?
I carry a spare FOB battery (2032) with my tools and it took me less than one minute to fix the alarm when it couldn't sense my presence.
I don't blame the OP-- I had it on my '08 SuperGlide & on my Vette, and it was nothing but a big baglapping PITA! Vette was constantly beeping & booping every time I walked past or near the garage with my keys in my pocket, & I even asked the dealer if they could disable it. One dealer offered to swap me a new TSSM without security straight for mine--shoulda done it.

Your Vette was just saying "Hi" when you walked past. Ever considered that it was just lonely and wanted some attention?
I also agree with the OP. The security on my 2010 Limited just stopped working one day. No problem, I changed the battery on the fob like everybody told me-----still no go. So I made an appointment with the dealer and it took a week io get it in to look at. Every time that I wanted to use the bike, I had to bypass the security by pushing the right sequence of turn signals while standing on one foot, jumping up and down and patting my head. When I finally was able to get it into the dealer, I walked out to the bike with the service manager who got on it and promptly started it no problem. I was right there when he did it. All I could do was shake my head when he couldn't duplicate, and thus fix the problem. Of course, the bike did it again on the way home and off and on again for about a week. Then, one day,the system started working as it should and never bothered again. But, it was always lurking there in the back of my mind.
Do a search on here. There is a thread that I read on how to disable. Yes, it is done through the turn signal module. It is not an easy swap of modules though. It is about a half an hour process of series of ignition on and off and crap like that.
