Disabling Security System
Any dealer can flash it for you, half hour labor. This is why I ordered my 13 Roadglide custom without security, my 07 Streetglide left me stranded twice. I write a check every year for insurance and if someone steals it I will just buy another one. Now when it comes to my Pan and Shovel I feel differently because they are not so easily replaced. Keep it simple.
I bought my '07 used and it came with the security also. You can buy a TSM and remove and replace your TSSM with the TSM. Then you will have no security other than your key. When you want to have security, put the TSSM back in and carry your proximity FOB with you. Very simple process.

Is it possible to disable the system (not just disarm) by pulling a fuse or unpluging something?
Then be able to plug back together when needed, like at a rally. Most all of our rides are 1day trips and I never leave the bike, but I would like to be able to hook it back up if needed.
Possible????

I wonder though...If the bikes comes with a security system installed and you disable it, would that not give the insurance company a get out clause? I know "you don't tell them they don't know" but legally speaking and considering that your enemies don't sleep.
If you read your manual you can "semi" disarm it through the turn signal switches temporarily to perform maintenance or transport it. It will eventually return to arming itself.
If you want the system disabled permanently, you must have the dealer or the use of a "Digital Technician" to do so. Anything else would defeat the purpose of a "Security System" be?
If it were that easy every thief looking for a H-D motorcycle would carry the TSM in his pocket. If you were to just change the TSM/TSSM the bike will not start.

Yeah that's what I said in my original post. I know that you can't just buy the security system 68200-07a and install the module to have it work, the dealer must do the flash on the "digital technician" that you referred to. So with that said just changing the module to the non security should not work.....correct?
I love the proximity security system on my 2010. Much better than the old push button fob I had with my 04 Ultra. I do carry extra 2032 batteries, and a wallet card with the steps for the manual override. I suppose the best thing is that the bike will not start if the fob is over 8 or so feet from the bike. I like that in a world full of druggies and parasites.
