Just curious, if you want to disarm the security system, why not just take the security fob and hide it on the bike? My friend just did that with his 09 Roadking Classic. He simply took the fob and zip tied it to the inside of one of the side covers. This eliminates the security system being set.

Seems like a simple solution.

flhrbill, when you are in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming, no cell service, on vacation and its 105 degrees with no shade and no houses within 50 miles and your FOB battery dies along with your bike, you will understand. You already need a key to lock the bike, why need ANOTHER electronic to carry with you? Just another gimmic for Harley to rip you off for diagnostics and extra add on costs. I think you already know I found this out.

That's why I carried an extra battery. Had to use it in my Brother's fob one time out some where. I also practiced the signal switch dissarm procedure just in case.
If the module goes out, that is a different matter intirely.

so i guess you never bothered to learn the override procedure when you got your bike?

it literally takes less than 5 seconds to do. and there are times that even though you have your fob, there will be some rf interference that will keep your bike from recognizing your fob. sure you could push your bike all around the parking lot trying to find 'that spot' where the rf is not interfering, or you could just push a couple of buttons. me, i'd rather push a button than my bike.

He was too busy whining about having diaper rash and warm formula in his bottle and no wet wipes. did you really expect him to perform a procedure that is well documented in his owners manual.....

I for one like it but there are quite a few guys around here locally that hate that security system and had it deactivated by the dealer. To my knowledge this is the only way to deactivate it because of the way it's tied into the turn signal module, hence the reason being called a TSSM, Turn Signal Security Module.

Had an aquaintance telling me how lucky I was I didn't have it. I need to go see if he will swap modules with me since he hates it. Why didn't I think of that sooner.,

if you do that, i think you're gonna have to make a visit to the dealer so the digital tech can flash your ecm so that security can be disabled on your bike, and enabled on his.

i really don't think it is gonna be as easy as just a module swap.
